Geomagnetic storms

Geomagnetic storms.

It’s produced when a great flux of radiation emitted  by the sun, arrives to the earth’s magnetic fields.
When strong gusts of solar wind produced by a solar storm arrive to the Earth, the radiation waves crash with the magnetosphere, disturbing the direction and the intensity of the magnetic field.
If the solar storm is extreme, it can produce crashes in the electricity, interferences in the satellite communication and in navigations systems. It also affects the weather.

Consequences:

The year 1965 a magnetic storm caused a failure in electrical circuits and it affected 30 millions of people more or less in America.

Questions:

What would happen if the solar storm was so hard?
How many time we can live without energy?
